Montanya Distillers was founded in 2008 by Karen and Brice Hoskin. The Hoskins are self-proclaimed rum officianados and they have been entrepreneurs for 15 years. They had long dreamed of starting a micro-distillery and on a beach in Belize, they brought their dream to life while sipping delicious rum cocktails with their toes in the sand. SInce then, they company has doubled in size every year to become the fastest growing rum distillery in the USA. In May, 2011 Montanya will relocate its primary operation to Crested Butte, CO in order to seize the opportunity for a larger distillery and more profile in the ski world. Montanya's two rums, Platino and Oro, have claimed the most important distinctions in the spirits world.
